Ohhh... a chilly North wind.

(Just picture these trees without any leaves on them and that is what they look like now)

Last night I was sitting at our computer which is right next to our sliding glass door. There was a howling wind blowing through the bare trees. I was glad I was nestled in our little apartment with a blanket around my shoulders and another one on my knees. Later- around 1:00 am- when I got up to help Anna, I was sitting with her in our glider chair in the girls' bedroom and the wind was still blowing strong. The sound through the trees reminds me of the sound of the ocean- kind of that constant dull roar which causes a sort of excitement when hearing it. I was amazed when we first moved here at the sheer number of trees- actually it still amazes me. They are so densely packed together- very different from where I grew up in Boise, Idaho. The trees, however, are one of my favorite things about living in Maryland.

It is beginning to Look A lot Like Christmas

Christmas is this week and according to our little ring calendar we only have 3 more days to go.
The stockings our hung- not on a chimney
with care but on the wall next to the tree.
I finished wrapping the gifts (Jed has a few more to do) and are on the table next to the tree so Anna doesn't eat them.
Kaley has done some additional decorating on the Christmas tree with some pipe cleaners- you can see the before and after below.
Kaley wore her new Christmas dress to church yesterday and even let me curl her hair.
I think we are ready.
Oh- I still need to go to the grocery store but other than that I am ready.

Merry Christmas to you all!
