My Thoughts on Cleaning

Growing up my mom always had weird cleaning chores I had to do- clean the baseboards down the hall, wash the clothes washer and dryer, sweep the outside stairs to a door we rarely used, or remove the books from our shelves to dust. "What?!?!? Why do we need to have our baseboards clean in the hall?" People say we turn into our parents and here I am- I have turned into my mother! I clean the baseboards in the bathroom, I wipe down our washer and dryer when they get dirty, and I sweep our outside porch even though we rarely go out there. Just recently I washed out our kitchen trashcan! I wait until the end of the day to take out the trash and I honestly don't like to put new trash in it once I have taken it out. But I haven't started dusting yet! I probably will sometime in my life but I just don't see the point. Sure it is nice for a day but then it is dusty again. If I am standing there and I notice something is dusty- I will just wipe it off with my hand and that is about it.
Mom- I love you- I bet you didn't think while I was growing up that one day I would make my bed. Give yourself a pat on the back because I usually do now!

oh, my mom isn't the only one who passed on OCD cleaning to their daughter, I laugh out loud at myself sometimes at my obsession with cleaning... here's to a clean house!

I clean the washer and dryer too! I also clean out our garbage can. Baby food always seems to find its way to the outside of the liner. I'm with you on the dusting thing. I do it with my hand regularly and with a rag and polish once every 6 months or so.
