My Thoughts on Cleaning

Growing up my mom always had weird cleaning chores I had to do- clean the baseboards down the hall, wash the clothes washer and dryer, sweep the outside stairs to a door we rarely used, or remove the books from our shelves to dust. "What?!?!? Why do we need to have our baseboards clean in the hall?" People say we turn into our parents and here I am- I have turned into my mother! I clean the baseboards in the bathroom, I wipe down our washer and dryer when they get dirty, and I sweep our outside porch even though we rarely go out there. Just recently I washed out our kitchen trashcan! I wait until the end of the day to take out the trash and I honestly don't like to put new trash in it once I have taken it out. But I haven't started dusting yet! I probably will sometime in my life but I just don't see the point. Sure it is nice for a day but then it is dusty again. If I am standing there and I notice something is dusty- I will just wipe it off with my hand and that is about it.
Mom- I love you- I bet you didn't think while I was growing up that one day I would make my bed. Give yourself a pat on the back because I usually do now!

Talking about FAB

Today I was driving down the street toward Target and all was quiet in the car- weird! As I drove I was thinking about a funny story about finding a balance.
So here it is: Kaley loves to watch movies and cartoons. One day, after a substantial time of watching t.v., I told Kaley she needed to turn it off. "Why?" she asked. "Well, we need to have a balance in our lives. We can't just watch t.v. all the time," I explained. So now when I ask her to turn the t.v. off she often will ask me, "Do we have balance in our lives?" I have to giggle a little bit to hear that coming from a 3 year old.

Taking a Turn in my Blogging

I am expanding my current blogging style. I usually just post some pictures of our girls (Jed and I are rarely ever in them- it seems like no one ever notices- those of you who have kids know what I am talking about) and what we have been up to. But for a few months I have been mulling over changing it to a personal blog and adding lots of other stuff. So be prepared to see the inner workings of my mind.
I named my blog- FAB- Finding A Balance- because I believe when I have a balance in my life, I am happy. It is usually when I don't have a balance and I am lacking or overindulging in areas of my life- I turn into a real grump (just ask Kaley or Jed)!

It has been such a long time since I updated,I think my mother was getting a little bit frustrated not to see any pictures of her grandchildren so here is a little update about our family. It is a bit ironic because I am trying to expand my blog from just putting pictures of our family but since it has been sooooooo long- I really had to.

Anna Grace

Sorry- it is so dark- we have really poor lighting in our apartment but you get the picture. She is crawling (the day after we took this video she was already crawling so much better), sitting herself up from the floor, and pulling herself up in the crib.

I am making her baby food and we have tried a variety- sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, prunes, bananas, and applesauce. This week she will be trying zuchinni and spinach. She is just growing and being happy!

Here is a slideshow of her when she was eating carrots for the first time.

Jed and Janelle

(I kindly interrupted Jed taking a nap to have Kaley take this picture of us. I didn't have a current picture of us together- one of the funny things about being a parent- you are always taking pictures of your kids)

Now- you might be wondering how Jed and I are doing. Well- probably not. But I will tell you anyways. Jed just renewed his fellowship at the Army Research Lab for another year. That is good because even though we have been here for a year- I still haven't seen everything I want to. I am still taking classes through BYU Independent Study. I took a break for the summer but I am signing up for two Psychology classes and a Religion course this week. Jed is serving in the Elders Quorum and I am in the Primary. We download Stargate Atlantis each week after a new episode is released and we are dreaming about a new car. I will post about our Jeep and all of its personality traits or little quirks.
